About the webinar

This webinar will equip you with practical strategies to integrate formative assessment into your lesson plans for improved student learning. You'll discover the clear definition and key characteristics of formative assessment, understand how it differs from summative assessment, and explore various types including informal, formal, and digital approaches suitable for Sub-Saharan African contexts. You will learn how formative assessment improves student motivation while providing you with real-time feedback on your teaching effectiveness, plus discover proven strategies for managing large classes more effectively. We'll share practical integration techniques including how to embed assessments into every lesson phase, and the powerful 10-2 principle for balanced instruction. You'll leave with contextually relevant tools (both low-tech and digital), real classroom examples from Nigerian schools and tertiary institutions, and actionable steps you can implement immediately—even with limited resources.
