About the webinar

This workshop will start by taking a look at the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), explaining how they provide a global framework for teaching real‑world issues in the classroom. I will show you how raising awareness of the SDGs is especially valuable in the EFL context: linking language learning to meaningful topics boosts motivation, builds cross‑curricular vocabulary, and develops critical thinking and civic skills.

The next stage of the workshop will look at SDG 13: Climate Action, outlining its aims of reducing emissions, strengthening resilience, integrating climate education ,connecting these goals to local examples students can easily relate to. You will learn how to adapt SDG 13 to practical classroom activities, probe into project‑based learning activities where students research local climate challenges and propose solutions. There will also be poster creation insights that combine language practice with visual communication; and school campaigns that encourage learners to plan awareness events, write persuasive texts, and present findings.

Finally, we will explore simple templates and assessment ideas to bring climate action into everyday EFL lessons. This workshop will give you practical ideas to help you integrate global citizenship and climate awareness into language teaching, empowering students to use English for real impact.
