About the webinar
Most schools say that they have a zero tolerance for bullying policy in placeā¦ and yet bullying occurs- in spades. It would be so helpful if there was a workshop in place at schools that every student attended. My presentation looks at bullying and conducts the workshop as if the audience were grade 8 or 9 students- so show rather than tell how to.
About the speaker
Janine Hamilton resides in Durban, South Africa. She holds a BA and an HDE from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and has over 15 years of teaching experience, primarily in History and English. Throughout her career, Janine has taught a broad range of ages and had the opportunity to attend a Facing History conference in London.
During her time as a teacher, Janine became increasingly aware of bullying incidents at schools and struggled to effectively address this behavior, which was a source of concern for her. After trying various approaches, she eventually developed a workshop aimed at tackling this issue. This method proved to be highly effective for her, particularly with her grade 9 students, where the results were measurable. She observed that students became more aware of their actions and more considerate as a result.
Janine is excited to share this workshop, hoping it will benefit other teachers who have a similar interest in addressing bullying in schools.
