About the webinar

This session seeks to enable teachers to design dynamic, inclusive, and successful English language classroom environment. It explores how teachers can intentionally plan English lessons which promote gender equity using practical strategies for selecting learning materials, structuring classroom activities, assessment and managing classroom interaction in ways that challenge stereotypes and promote social awareness while achieving curriculum objectives. The session will equip teachers with simple, context-sensitive approaches for transforming everyday lesson planning into a powerful tool for promoting equality, learner engagement and positive social change in English language classrooms.

About the presenter

Mary Akinyi Tago is a seasoned teacher of English and Literature with over 15 years of experience, currently teaching at Bar Union Senior School in Kisumu, Kenya. She is a graduate of The University of Nairobi who is passionate about professional development and has completed several Online Professional English Network courses and also online British Council courses. She is also keen on multilingualism and has made several presentations on the same in international conferences and webinars. With her wealth of experience, she is a mentor, researcher and a facilitator.
