About the webinar

According to the Casel framework (Casel,2000), the best starting point in understanding Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is the Casel wheel. This wheel depicts the interconnectivity that exists between learning environment, self-awareness and the community. It is the correlation of all afore-mentioned stakeholders that emphasizes the link between inclusion as part of social emotional learning in the language classroom.

The workshop has three parts. First, it introduces SEL and its importance in teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL), focusing on its positive effects on student well-being, academic performance, and language learning. Next, it discusses understanding diverse student needs, creating an inclusive classroom, and handling social-emotional challenges. Finally, Elsie shares practical tips for integrating SEL into lesson plans with interactive activities. The session ends with a Q&A.
