Word bingo is a fun way to review lexical sets, e.g. colours, and support pupils’ reading skills in segmenting and blending sounds to words. This game can be played in teams or pairs. Each team or pair has three cards; each card has a colour word. The teacher holds up a colour and pupils read their cards. If the colour matches the word on their card, they must turn the card over. The first pair/team to correctly turn over their three cards AND say ‘Bingo’ wins!
